People can only save themselves.
I'm not sure if I'd put it quite like that. It's more like: it's awfully hard to become self-sufficient when bigger more powerful nations keep running interference, and demanding huge 're'payments of an unjust debt based on exploitation. it's been a one-sided relationship from the start. Africa will be fine once the rich nations stop messing with it, stop exploiting it, stop stealing from it.
