Interesting 'argument' about fiction and non-fiction as teacher. You say"but only non-fiction gives you true knowledge about the world," is your friend's position but how much can you trust a non-fiction book to be truthful? History is always written by the winners so the only truth you can trust is your own experience and false memory taints
that.I guess fiction is as good a teacher as non-fiction after all.
