Back to Square One

So....

What's that saying about not counting your chickens before they're hatched?

I spoke with the Head of the Social Work Department at the University and, it appears, it's a no go on the teaching front. A pity, particularly since this basically puts me back at square one with few leads and fewer options. I'm a bit torn since we have both financial as well as motivational needs to consider. Should I stay here if I don't find anything that I genuinely like doing? But what of the investment to come this far?

There is also the fact that Chris is loving writing at the newspaper and not wanting to have him quit a full-time writing job; something he has wanted as long as I have known him. So, I'm back to the drawing board and will rebegin my search. True, I'm a bit sad about this and feel a bit lost. I had wanted this maybe for the wrong reasons. As much as I would like to teach, I wanted anything really that would be in any way engaging and rewarding. Staring at my navel won't quite cut it, it seems.

So, there's a bit of honesty. We haven't yet decided what to do - stay or go or when to go or whatever. I'll think about it some more and see if I can't turn something else up.

Warm regards to everyone, Miia

Don't diss the navel. It holds many imports taken for granted in a seeming seditiously scandalous program of masochism. Liatm.
